Tangled
It was another long, snowy, inside day. blech. Luckily I have some inventive, resourceful and creative girls. They (meaning Sydney) came up with this string idea.

I was thinking some high tech laser security thing.
They were thinking "Tangled."
Here are some other things we've done on rainy or snowy inside days.
This (the video at the end of the post) and This.

red knees
Hash's knees are getting a little red lately. And this is why...
Crawling means several things.
1. He's happier and therefore I am happier. At first he would scoot backwards and it just totally ticked him off. Instead of getting the toy he wanted, it kept getting further and further away. Its was frustrating for all of us. But now, its no sweat. He wants it...he gets it.
2. He gets lost. I feel like I'm always saying, "Where's Hash?" I put him down by the couch and I put dinner in the oven and I turn around and he's under the table or trapped under a chair. Which leads me to ...
3. Stair danger. I've got to remember to keep an eye on that.
4. Cleanliness. Its time to start vacuuming and sweeping a little more often. That little kid has the pincher grasp down pat and can pick up the smallest things. So the polly pocket shoes left on the carpet and pieces of raw carrot thrown to the floor during dinner could be serious choking hazards. Not to mention paper, plastic, elastics, legos, mud, crayons, string, yarn, playdoh, lettuce and all the other things I sweep or pick up daily. I understand the bottom feeder service that Bryce will soon fulfill but seriously, some things should not be ingested.
5. Bryce is good at crawling to something and pulling himself up to standing position, which is great and quite cute. Like when I'm at the computer and he pulls himself up to my chair and looks up at me with that big, slobbery, toothless grin. Except its not that great when its in the middle of the night and he wakes up and sits and/or stands up. Then he doesn't quite understand how to lay back down again. So we let him cry (sometimes) and later find him sleeping in sitting position. Poor little buster (brown). haha

Another milestone to check off the list. Wow. Time is cruising!

14 years-sister-sister-niece
I am the oldest in my family and my youngest sister, Sarah, is...well...the youngest. There are 14 years between us. There were a number of years there, somewhere in the midst of my gypsy years, when we shared a bedroom. I think this was after Russia but before China. Anyways, I was on the top bunk, she was on the bottom. She was my little sidekick. I don't know if she liked it much but I sure enjoyed having her around.
Soon enough I got married and had my first baby, Sydney. And guess what? Sydney and Sarah are 14 years apart. I've always thought that was pretty cool. Seeing Sydney and Sarah together often reminds me of myself and Sarah. They have a pretty cute relationship. Sarah recently blogged about it with several pictures. But she couldn't find any older than 6 or so years ago and asked for my help to find some.
She may regret doing that. I don't know. But here's what I dug up.

Its not slime, its ......
fill in the blank.
"Its not slime, its ________________."
Here's a hint. (check :25)
Its MUCUS!!! And we have enough of it to go around. Sick sick sick. Luckily the youngest two are the ones who have escaped it. And my robust little man, Parker.
Millie missed 4 days of school plus the weekend. Now Millie and I have Tummy-aches because our tummies are full of phlegm we've coughed up and swallowed back down. GROSS. Someone needs to teach us how to expectorate.
And just when I thought I was getting better, I was hit with my lack-of-sleep migraine. I had nightmares of replaying my illness a couple of summers ago. Not Good. Earlier I had the knife through the skull and the electrical shot through the ear kind of headache, but yesterday I had the head smack with a 2x4 and then someone put an allen wrench around my head and started twisting. ouch.
Sydney is now starting on it and also has pink eye. I know. Its been like a month and a half since we've truly been pink eye free. We WERE for a week but last night it reared its ugly head. This time we spent the big bucks and got some special drops. And I'm dousing my entire house in clorox, with a hose. :)
Now I have to be better because poor Dad is sick in bed. He is missing a day of the legislative session which is HUGE. I mean HUGE! What ever shall we do?
