December stuff

The Harker's had their annual food drive for the Utah Food Bank. I love that they do this. This year they had the hill lit up for sledding.

A community member, Heather Johnson and City Council member, Ryan Poduska and I, worked together to bring a public speaker named Collin Kartchner to our schools to speak about the dangers of social media. It was a great and engaging presentation.

During the Christmas break we took the family to Temple Square to see the lights and explore the visitor centers.
While playing with the Family History computers, we found that we are related to President Nelson.

Also, our cat, Mali, loves Sterling. This photo was not set up. It just happened and it is adorable.

And this is what my brain looks like. I'd like to say just during the busy days of December but really its all the time. A mass jumble of lots of things.

Random October

This cute little pumpkin jar is another project Camille made in her art class.

I snapped this picture before school started. Bryce and Rachel just sat with the kitties before it was time to go to school.  Later that day, Kenya was hit by a car, so this picture is extra special.

Cousin Jeremy earned his Eagle Scout award.

Parker was so happy to be able to sit in the Eagle's nest! It was sort of funny at one point because the whole Eagle nest is supposed to repeat a portion of the Eagle pledge (or something) but the man leading them divided it into really long sentences and they couldn't remember what they were supposed to say. It was so funny and everyone was laughing.

Random August

This is what I find on my windshield on most Sundays after church. The kids drop off their junk while they walk home.

Sherry Bookman's daughter was able to get us tickets to the Sandy Amphitheater again.
"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"

All summer we've enjoyed babysitting our second cousins (DaLynn's kids, Kimball and Charlotte) while DaLynn teaches Rachel and Bryce spanish.

Hispanic culture activity making tasty treats.

We got two new kitties. The calico is Kenya and the black and white is Mali. Unfortunately a few weeks later, Kenya was hit by a car and Mali ran away. But our awesome neighbor, Amy, helped us find Mali and she is sticking around. We love her.

Late summer monsoon rains are the best!

At the beginning of the summer, we constructed a potato tower. Adding a layer of boards and dirt every week or two, we started to grow potatoes. But somewhere along the line, something went wrong and after all I tender love and care, we came up empty-handed.

Baby Congo

The kids were so excited to get a new baby kitty.
They named her Congo.

We've had a lot of fun playing with her. The girls worked a long while on Saturday building a house for Congo. And it's a good thing because we've had real cold weather, including snow! Poor kitty.

Congo gets pretty tuckered out playing with all the kids and often needs a nap.

One of his favorite places to sleep is with Sterling.
