June/July stuff

Real quick:

For all the July birthdays (Park, me, mom) we went to see Spiderman: Homecoming.
It was super fun.

We got to spend time with Texas cousins!

Sterling and I always leave a check-in paper for whoever is out later than we are on the weekend. I love the answers Sydney gave to the closing questions.
Q: Who loves you the most?
A: Hmmm. Heavenly Father.
Q: And why?
A: He knows me the best.

We went to the Sandy amphitheater and watched "Beauty and the Beast." We are always grateful to for the opportunity to go and spend the time together. It was kind of stormy but luckily, although it sprinkled a little here and there through the performance, it didn't start raining until the show had finished. What a blessing.

Notes

Notes and letters are quickly becoming part of our family identity. Here are a few of the more recent ones.

When Sterling was growing up and was out late with friends or on a date, he would come home to a "check-in" letter on the table. It would usually ask who you were with, what you did, what time you came home, etc. So our children, as they are getting older and out late more often, come home to the same type of letter on the table. And Sterling is always interested in a "FULL REPORT." Well, one night, Ster was out at a late-night meeting so Sydney left him this note and he responded.

I also often find letters from my children on my bed. Often they come because they know I've had a rough day and they just want to cheer me up. Sometimes they are letters of apology. This one is from Parker. It was a letter of the second sort. :)

It kind of makes up for days when bedrooms look like this. And have looked like this for weeks.

This is another letter I found on Parker's bedroom door. Apparently Rachel was entering without permission and getting into things she shouldn't.

My favorite part is the hashtag. This new generation, I tell ya.

And I absolutely love getting letter after letter of beautiful artwork. Being a mom, raising this family of mine, is a beautiful kind of work!

Notes....

Quite frequently, Sterling will leaves notes around the house. Sometimes he leaves them early, early in the morning, before he leaves on a trip. Or sometimes we will come home from church to see a note taped somewhere. And who can forget the question and answer notes with Santa?

Here is one Sterling left before leaving on a trip. For a close up of the pages, look here.

Here are some recent notes that have been found in the house.
This is a cute Valentine note from Camille.

This is a recent attempt at poetry by Sterling. We found it when we came home from church.

My favorite lately is this note, from Rachel to Camille. Rachel came into the piano room while I was practicing and she taped a piece of paper to the piano. It said, "Where do you play the piano? Skip there." When I asked her what it was, she said she was planning a treasure hunt for Camille. I helped her get the clues in the right order and plant the treasure at the end. It was this note.
Dear Camille,
sorry I called you fathead
so do you want to play a game
You can choose and sorry that I screamed at you
Love Rachel

Best note ever!
