Fall is Fun

One day, while the kids were at school, I looked out the window and saw that someone had raked leaves in a very strategic place, ready for an afternoon of fun after school.

Fall days, when the air is as crisp as the fallen leaves. When the light comes in on a tired slant, ready for long summer days to end. But lingering on a golden angle, reluctant to submit to the short days of winter.

Perfect for slide plowing into leaves.

And Fall Football- of course.

Fall Break- IFly and Flowrider

We woke up in Park City to frost on our windows. Winter is coming!

On the way to Ogden, our next stop, we passed the Devil's Slide.

In Ogden, we found a group deal that included iFly, Flowrider and rock climbing. It was, in a word,
AWESOME!

At iFly, we went through flight instruction and got suited up and then took turns in the wind tunnel- FLYING~!

After flying!!! we had lunch at the Ogden temple.

Then we spent an hour rock climbing.
Sydney and Bryce
Parker scrambled up the tallest wall like a pro!

Camille, taking a break.

After rock climbing, we suited up- in our bathing suits- and went to Flow Rider.

We had several bumps and bruises along the way. I even had a swimsuit malfunction (that no one saw, thank heaven). Sterling came away with numbness and tingling in his arm. But we had sooo much fun!

FLOWRIDER VIDEO;

After all this adventure, we headed to Woods Cross to have dinner with G'ma and G'pa. A perfect way to end a many-mile-long, adventure-filled, memory-making Fall Break!

Fall Break- Arches National Park

For Fall Break, we took a very long road trip. First, we drove down south and visited Arches National Park. It was a little rainy the night we arrived but the morning dried up enough for us to do some nice hiking.
Arches National Park is stunning.

Ram Rock
Hiking to Delicate Arch

Little lizards, sunning on the rocks.

Wolf Ranch, trailhead to Delicate Arch

Southern Utah is known for its red rock, so when we saw all this green rock, we were surprised.
Red Rock Country?

Look at that skyline!

It's easy to get lost in the majesty of the arches. Look how small Parker and Bryce are in this picture where the arrow points.

At the Turret Arch, Parker found this crevice and clambered right up into it. Bryce was quick to follow.

Camille and Rachel wanted to follow too. While they were trying to find their way up....

...Bryce was taking in the view from the inside.

The girls had a little bit more difficult time getting up AND getting down. :)
We had a lot of really good laughs through the whole thing.

Double Arch

On the hike back to the car, Bryce found a dead lizard and the kids devised a plan to put it on Sterling's door handle. Gross!

We had lunch overlooking Balanced Rock and then headed to Park City for the night while Sterling had a meeting in Oakley.

Random Fall pictures

These pictures are in no particular order.
They are random, like I mentioned in the title of the post.
Thus no order, rhyme or reason.
Clear?

General Women's meeting with Grandma.

View from the field behind our house. I don't know who took this picture but I just kind of like it.

Saw this rainbow on the way to the church one day. No, it was not a reflection off my window. It was in the sky, only tipped on it's side. I've never seen a sideways rainbow before. If I had a scientific brain, I would probably understand it and appreciate it more. But I'm not that scientific so I just thought it was different and kind of cool.

Crazy hair day at school. Parker's piggies lasted about 10 minutes.

The some of the kids have been able to go to some of the BYU football games. Great fun!

Awesome sunsets in the fall, even when they are blurry.

Ster took the top two to General Conference.

Parker went fishing with the scouts and caught a fish!

Campfire dinner up American Fork with Grade and family. Dinner was amazing because...Bryn. 'nuff said.

Big ugly spider by the chicken coop. No one wants to collect eggs anymore.

Not sure why I have to end with the spider picture. That's really, well, random.
