Random July

Bryce's sock choice for church is pretty impressive. Especially the camouflage sock that is inside out.

Sydney with friends at a lake with a rope swing.

Beautiful Girl!

This board is hanging in the library. Each tile was a $5 donation to our fledgling library.

Apricot Festival 2018

Apricot Ice Cream Festival

I worked for several days ahead of time to try and perfect a Ginger flavored ice cream with chocolate shavings.

Preparatory to the festival, the cousins were able to play together.
Emily, Camille and Brook did Baptisms for the Dead at the temple.

Ellsworths joined us at the Provo Pool with Emily and DaLynn's kids. Here are the stragglers before we left. Look at those clouds in the background!

We also made tie-dye shirts. I'm not sure I have any pictures of the final product though.

The morning of the festival we went on a hike with Dave and his son, Stuart and son-in-law, Ben.

That evening we had a fantastic BBQ. Especially when, after 60 hamburgers had dripped their grease all over the BBQ, a fantastic fire broke out. That was fun! (not)

Pictures of our past years of festival celebrating!

The mass exodus down to the street sign for "Apricot Place" to take the annual picture.

Family reports

Voting for the recipient of the Apricot Award.

And the winner is: Bryn! for going back to school and pursuing her love of art.

Awarding the traveling gift, "the Cane" for turning 50 years old.

Lucky Court! The big 5-0.

And then we got completely rain out.
A serious down pour.

The rain chased us inside where we made pony-bead ice cream cone keychains.
That ended our party a little prematurely because our house is pretty small to try and fit the crowd that is our extended family. But we had a lot of fun and look forward to it every year!

150 pinata

The kids and I had a lot of fun making a homemade pinata. We had to start twice because the first one didn't really work out. oh well...

We decided to really go all out on the decorations. This was Camille's favorite part. Ever the Artist!

Then we filled it with 150 pieces of candy.
150 Pinata!

When Deej and his family were here for a visit, Sarah's family and my parents all came over for dinner and a nice Pinata Pop!

And with that- our 150 YEAR CELEBRATION came to a conclusion!

150 Boutique

The kids worked really hard putting together small gifts that they made themselves to sell at a boutique and then donate the proceeds to the Utah refugees.
$150 Donation!

Crayons

Stress Balls/Bags

Book Marks

Sugar Scrub Soap

We had a lot of fun and saw a lot of their friends come to support them. We had a goal of making $150 to donate to the Utah Refugee Connection, but only made about $100. (The sugar scrub didn't sell and we were really counting on that). We still counted it as a success.

150 Braids and Provo Freedom Run

In preparation for the Provo Freedom Run, the girls braided their hair.
You guessed it-
150 braids! between us all.

The Fourth of July, we usually watch the hot air balloons inflate in provo and then hike up Y mountain and watch the balloons from there.

This year, Sydney, Parker and I ran the 5K Freem Run. It was a lot of fun and we got festive leggings to boot.

The rest of the family hiked the Y and then met us after the race. Then we went for breakfast at Kneaders.

Showing off our braids!!!
