Fall Break- IFly and Flowrider

We woke up in Park City to frost on our windows. Winter is coming!

On the way to Ogden, our next stop, we passed the Devil's Slide.

In Ogden, we found a group deal that included iFly, Flowrider and rock climbing. It was, in a word,
AWESOME!

At iFly, we went through flight instruction and got suited up and then took turns in the wind tunnel- FLYING~!
iFly videos here

After flying!!! we had lunch at the Ogden temple.

Then we spent an hour rock climbing.
Sydney and Bryce
Parker scrambled up the tallest wall like a pro!

Camille, taking a break.

After rock climbing, we suited up- in our bathing suits- and went to Flow Rider.

We had several bumps and bruises along the way. I even had a swimsuit malfunction (that no one saw, thank heaven). Sterling came away with numbness and tingling in his arm. But we had sooo much fun!

FLOWRIDER VIDEO;

After all this adventure, we headed to Woods Cross to have dinner with G'ma and G'pa. A perfect way to end a many-mile-long, adventure-filled, memory-making Fall Break!

Bear Lake

We had the lucky opportunity to spend a couple of days with my parents at Bear Lake!

We went just one week after the season ended and they had already begun to renovate the condo unit we were in. It made it look a little sketchy. But once you got past the exterior and into the condo, it was really nice.

On the first day, we rented a bounce island and a jetski. It was a lot of fun, even though it rained off and on. And most of the kids got a chance to drive the jetski.

My mom watched all the excitement from the shore. And some of us joined her as well.

One night, the resort offered free s'mores on the beach. They were tasty!

They also hid rocks painted like ice cream cones around the resort and beach. You could return them for a free ice cream cone at the store. The kids really enjoyed that! They finally tracked down 5. One for each of them.

I went for a beautiful morning run.

One morning, before it was warm enough to get in the water, we played miniature golf. Girls on one team, boys on another team.

Of course, we also spent plenty of time sitting around talking, playing and laughing! Sibling bonding. Its the best!

After lunch we rented paddle boards and kayaks and had fun with those!

We even got my mom out on a kayak. Being at Bear Lake always brings back a lot of memories for her. It was fun to hear her talk about them.

But the fun didn't end there. We also rented a tandem bicycle and rode around. And my mom and Sterling took a jaunt around the resort too. I love my mom and her adventurous spirit!

What's a Bear Lake trip without a raspberry shake. On our way out of town, we stopped for one of the most delicious shakes ever! Mmm

Vacationing with my parents is something I hope my children will remember forever. The bonding and sharing that happens across generations is so valuable and we are so lucky to have opportunities to spend together, milking those relationships for all their worth!

Herriman Reservoir

To finish off summer before school starts again, the kids talked me into going to Herriman reservoir. I'm not always excited to go because of the prep work, food, towels, toys, sunscreen, time.

But by the time we get there and I'm sitting under my tent, I'm glad we came. And it was a relaxing way to say goodbye to summer!

June stuff

The kids talked me into going swimming. It was hot and we were bored and I didn't want them in front of a screen. So off we went and they had the BEST time playing together. They don't always play well together at the pool but this day they did!

I tried my hand at a new crochet craft. They are called 'lovies'. Like a blanket/stuffed animal. The doggie is for Tom's new baby, Luke. And the penguin was just for fun. Its floating around the house, somewhere. :)

Parker spent a week at scout camp. It rained, it snowed, it was sunny. He describes it as living through all four seasons in one week. This was his last scout camp and is soooo happy to have this phase of life OVER! He enjoys camping and scouting but there is a big behavioral and interest difference in the new 12 year old scouts and almost 14 year old Parker. Its just time to move on. Plain and simple. And he is READY!

Bryce said, "I wanted to draw a dolphin and ended up drawing a 3-D car.

When we came back from our Idaho trip to Coeur d"Alene, we found this snake skin in our yard under our peach trees. Glad that visitor came and hopefully left while we were gone!
