June/July stuff

June and July stuff:

I was driving Syd and her friend home from a volleyball camp in June and just as we were turning left on a protected arrow that had just turned yellow, a car blew through the intersection right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes. It scared me to death! As I completed the turn, catching my breath, we looked to the right and saw this guy on a motorcycle who was also cut off by the crazy driver. We gave us a big smile and thumbs up. He mouthed the words "Good Job!"

I invited Rachel to go on a search and rescue meeting for lost socks in the house. She ended up with a basket-full!!!

Most of the kids enjoy the Snap Chap app on my phone, just to take funny pictures. Rachel loves it the most. Camille likes it the least, but I did find this cute picture on my phone.

At the Farm Bureau Mid-year conference, they hooked up a red-neck dunk tank/balloon drop. Staff took turns sitting in the chair while members threw balls. Parker also got in on the action. Just as he was winding up for a throw, John Keeler yelled, "You get him on the first throw, I'll give you five bucks!" Parker didn't hear him, and wasn't really trying but he got it, first throw! Everyone erupted in cheers! And Parker got five dollars!

More Snap Chat

We found a new home for our birdies where they can bring joy and happiness to another family with their singing. Their loud, endless singing.

Sydney's growing up!

Oh, sweet Sydney. Please stop growing up.
Sydney graduated from Vista Heights middle school. (The same year that the principal is being transferred. So it was a double good-bye.)
She received an award for having a 4.0 every term this year in school. That represents a lot of hard work. Sydney has really put in the time to get good grades and I am proud of her.

I'm also proud of her friends, who are by her side, and she by theirs, every step of the way.

AND...
AND...

Sydney got her learner's permit for driving. Holey Moley. She studied her little heart out and had to try on two different visits, to pass the test. On her final try, she only missed 4 out of 50!
I can't believe my Sydney is driving! And I'm sure it comes as no surprise that she is a fantastic driver!

This is one beautiful girl. Beautiful as in the real kind. The kind that comes from the inside, that shines through the eyes and is on display, not in perfect make-up and stylish hair, but in her actions.
Can't help but love this beautiful creature!
